There’s no question that the star of that day was Ahmad Al-Omrani who smashed the course record for the A-Race with a finishing time for the 25 miles (40.235 kms) of 52:15 knocking 18 seconds off the previous record. His average speed was a stunning 46.1 km/h.
The earlier starters had the best of the racing conditions as temperatures started to climb later on, and riders began noticing that the wind was picking up. Faisal Alshaya came second, beating Jameel Alghamdi into 3rd place by just ten second.
Our thanks to new sponsor The Cycle Hub and Camel Step, who have providing us with prizes to the winners.
