Lovely sunshine, fresh air, no wind and lots of smiling faces at the Midweek circuit, the racing was good.
Since it was a Saudi National Day, we celebrate that at the start line.
It’s great that there are many new faces joining in with the races too. So welcome to those new people and everyone, please invite your cycling buddies to join in. The idea of our ‘B’-races is to create a slightly more laid-back racing formula for people to enjoy. We think we got off to a good start this morning and are thrilled that a lady was the first to make it over the finish line! Hopefully we will see many more women and returning riders finding a way back in to racing, through the ‘B’-races.
The rolling start of the road race before the action heated up
Eventually the ‘A’-race became a celebration of friendship and camaraderie, as 2 riders crossed the line almost together. That didn’t stop our super-accurate timing system from putting them in to order though, so guys, you’re going to hard to work harder to make a “dead-heat”. Faisal Alshaya took first place but right alongside him was Badr Almuhana. First non-Saudi and from the Open category, was Jestony Sajot 1:28 minutes behind.
The prizes for this race was for Juniors and the 1st place was Rafaello Marinas, 2nd place Abdullah Alanssari and 3rd place was Abdulmajeed Aldakheel.
Also we announced the result for Teams champion in the first race and Air Force Team was in the 1st place, 2nd place for Speed Team while the 3rd place was for Riyadh Elite Team.
