Although the side winds in this race were strong, reaching 38 km/h, 43 competitors out of 45 completed the race. In general, the weather was suitable for a challenge, but the results were lower than before, due to strong winds.
Abdulrahaman Almusalam, came back and was determined to measure himself against Time trial specialist Faisal Alshaya. The presence of the big hill would maybe tip things into Abdulrahaman’s favor…? Well, I’ll save the drama. Abdulrahamanwas sorry to be beaten by 1:30 minutes. Great work Faisal.
Interestingly, very few people opted to use TT bikes for the race, even though they had them available. TT bikes tend to weigh more than the typical road bike and so don’t offer quite as much advantage when the tarmac gets steeper.
Ahead of Marcel Kofler in 8th place, were Suliman Binhumid, (31:01 – 7th) and Anas AlBabtain (31:12 – 6th). The fight for the 3rd step on the podium was won by Abdurrahman Alanssary, (27:47), challenged by Jameel Alghamdi (28:04) and Talha Alhomsi (30:12).

There are still 25 people who will be able to complete 8 races this year to get the full collection of points on offer. This year’s champion will definitely come from this group and realistically, there are still 7 people who could win with the highest points score. Getting the best possible results in the next 3 races could make all the difference to this year’s final podium!
Masters AG Podium:
As announced before, the podium for this race was reserved to the Masters Category and the top has been taken by Marcel Kofler, followed by Santiago petuabella, and the 3rd place was for Nick Daukes.
Next Race
The next race is the 50km Road Race and please note this race will take place at MidWeek Circuit. The race is on Friday 09 February, and will be start at 08:00. The A-race will be 6 laps and the B-race will by 4 laps (40kms) long.
على الرغم من ان الرياح الجانبية كانت شديد بهذا السباق تصل الى ٣٨ كم/س، اكمل السباق ٤٣ متسابق من اصل ٤٥ دراج. وبشكل عام كانت الاجواء مناسبة لتحدي ولكن كانت النتائج اقل من السابق ويعود ذلك الى الرايح الشديدة
عاد عبد الرحمن المسلم وهو مصمم على قياس نفسه ضد محترف سباقات ضد الزمن فيصل الشايع. ربما وجود التل الكبير قد يقلب الأمور لصالح عبد الرحمن…؟ حسنًا، سأحفظ الدراما. وأعرب عبد الرحمن عن أسفه لتغلب عليه بدقيقة ونصف من فيصل. عمل رائع فيصل.
ومن المثير للاهتمام أن عددًا قليلاً جدًا من الأشخاص اختاروا استخدام دراجات TT للسباق، على الرغم من توفرها لديهم. تميل دراجات TT إلى أن تزن أكثر من دراجة الطريق، وبالتالي لا تقدم ميزة كبيرة عندما يصبح مضمار السباق أكثر صعودا.
وتقدم مارسيل كوفلر في المركز الثامن على سليمان بن حميد (31:01 – السابع) وأنس البابطين (31:12 – السادس). وفاز بالمنافسة على المركز الثالث على منصة التتويج عبد الرحمن الأنصاري (27:47)، وتحدى جميل الغامدي (28:04) وطلحة الحمصي(30:12).

وكما أعلنا من قبل، فإن منصة التتويج في هذا السباق كانت مخصصة لفئة الماسترز، وقد احتل الصدارة مارسيل كوفلر، يليه سانتياغو بيتوابيلا، أما المركز الثالث فكان من نصيب نيك دوكس.
