Anas is the new Club President

This is my last act as the departing President of the club I have been so happy to lead this last year. I am happy to announce that my good friend and strong competitor, Anas AlBabtain, is taking over the leadership of the club.

He won’t have quite as much time as I have had in this last year to put into this role, so I ask that everyone tries their best to support and assist him. Leadership can be a lonely position, where others relax and let the work be done for them.

The quality of the club and our races relies on people helping; consistently, not just occasionally. Anas has been at so many races before, come rain, come sunshine. We are brothers on the road!

Specific areas where help is needed

Anas will need people who can help in the following areas:
– Social media and publicity activities including WordPress
– Race Day coordination with Marshal team and new riders
– Race registration, timing and results publishing

Please get in touch with Anas to tell him how you can help: president@riyadhwheelers.com or better, call him on 054 489 2288

…New Season starts on Friday 8th September

This season’s 14 race championship will begin on 8th September. The first race will be a 2 lap, 14km time trial at the beautiful Ranco Farm. You can see details about the course here on our website.

More details about how to register for the race will come later.

In the next week or two I leave for new adventures Germany (I hope this will include some Cyclocross racing!). Thank you for the fun on the race courses, the willingness to suffer in the heat, the fun we have had on the roads. I wish the club and riders every success in the future.
